KNEE PAIN?

Did you know that the knee is one of the most limited joints in the body? It literally knows and performs basically one motion, to hinge. It bends. So why do so many people have so many issues with such a simplistic functional movement system?

The answer is what controls its loading. It gets loaded. Constantly. And no, not like the day drinker at the bar arriving everyday well before the sun hits noon.

To fix a knee issue requires analyzing what is causing a load stress on it. There are major muscle groups from the hip that are essentially in charge of what forces get put on the knee. And it gets loaded by gravity all the time when we stand. And for those people that have never had one major traumatic event to the knee but overtime have developed this transient unknown knee pain this is your focus. By looking at the hip and ankle, joints with tremendous more cardinal movement in multiple joint planes we can often get a lot of answer about what is causing the chronic knee pain. And it is often something easily repairable with rehabilitative exercises, lifestyle changes, and a little consistency to new physical habits and routine.

Is it more complicated that this? Yes, it is sometimes. But that is what we specialize in. And each unique individual deserves the evaluation and care to identify the origin of the dysfunction for the most effective treatment approach a better outcome of long term recovery overall.

Craniosacral + Visceral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy and visceral manipulation are two gentle, hands-on techniques used to enhance the body's natural healing processes.

Craniosacral therapy changes our internal system that quietly has held tension for too long. It focuses on the central nervous system and the craniosacral structures, which is composed of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord. There is a rhythm in this system not too different than our pulse where fluid moves throughout. By using gentle pressure and guidance, practitioners aim to release tensions in the body, improve the flow of cerebrospinal fluid, and promote overall relaxation and body function.

This therapy can be beneficial for a range of conditions, including including migraine headaches, tension headaches, anxiety, chronic fatigue, neck and back pain, stress-related disorders, autoimmune issues, poor sleep and insomnia, bed wetting in children, changes in temperament and cognitive function, depression and ongoing lack of motivation.

Visceral manipulation, on the other hand, targets the internal organs and the connective tissues surrounding them. This technique helps to release restrictions and improve the mobility of the organs, which can enhance overall organ function and contribute to overall better health. It’s keystone is used to address digestive health, and significant changes are seen the in digestive system. It also addresses organs related to pelvic function and pain, and even impacts to improve emotional stress when related to chronic organ dysfunction.

Both therapies emphasize the interconnectedness of the body’s intricate systems, advocating a holistic approach to health and healing. By integrating these techniques into treatment plans, Dr. Quint can help her patients achieve a deeper state of relaxation, reduced pain, and improved overall health and well-being.

NUTRITIONAL HEALTH

Our bodies are like machines. We run a system and over time things go faulty if proper maintenace and care is not taken. Just like fuel and oil, what you put in our system impacts the body machine’s performance. We try so many different things to change our health from the outside putting more stuff in or topically on, but rarely look at the core and consistent fuel we put in our own tank. It is true, what you put in is what you get out.

The digestive health and gut microbiome are the foundation of our long-term health, directly controlling our immune system and overall cellular functions. Inflammation stems from the gut directly and so do chronic diseases like Fibromyalgia, Diabetes, Heart Disease and High blood pressure, Chronic Fatigue, Skin issues like Eczema, Psoriasis, Gout, Joint Arthritis, and even Alzheimer’s has shown in recent decades of scientific case studies to have a direct crosslink to the state of our nutritional health and gut dysfunctions.
